Since there still hasn't been any response to my other issue (https://www.drupal.org/node/2296559) i've tried to attach my problem from a different angle. I now encounter a different problem..

I have a token that has to replace with a location code , for example 12345. It gets used inside a piece of code in a custom display suite field. Unfotrunately, the token is replaced with a space at the end of it, thus breaking my code! I've tried everything but the space won't go.. It's definitely not being entered anywhere by myself.

Any way i can get rid of the space?

Token Filter does not alter the behaviour of tokens beyond making them available in filtered text fields. I don't think the token module is to blame for the space at the end of the code, but that would be a better place to ask than here.
