Hi,
I'm currently considering to opt for Universal Analytics (analytics.js) instead of the conventional google analytics (ga.js) and would like to know if there are any potential ramifications with respect to using the Google Analytics Reports module with the universal analytics.

Also the current Reporting API shows a list of deprecated metrics and dimensions of which ga:visits has been replaced by ga:sessions.

Since the module comprises of the ga:visits as its default metrics if not overridden and since I could not get any explicit inference from the Google Analytics Developer docs request a comment on the same if its possible to use this module with Universal Analytics and if the metric ga:visits could still be made use of.

Thanks & Cheers,

You can use this module with Universal Analytics.
I've attached the patch which replace all deprecated metrics and dimensions.
