The names of our image styles are confusing, for example with "Quarter size", users may wonder "quarter of what?" The answer of course is "quarter of the region the image is in." We just need to communicate that better in all the places where the image style names appear.

miromarchi CreditAttribution: miromarchi commentedAs a user I just came across this same issue, and I agree it took me a little time to understand quarter is a responsive term, meaning "quarter of the region the image is in" as said by dsnopek, and not quarter of the original image size.
