I searched the site and didn't find any mention of it -- does Drupal do any output caching?

Yes, it does
Drupal does rather efficient output caching for anonymous users.

Why?
So, why does it cache for only anonymous users?
Nick
Caching
Because all anonymous users get to see the same page, whereas registered users have customized pages. We talked about this a lot and we could easily cache pages for registered users but AFAIK no one evaluated this yet. We need some benchmark results/analysis to back up such a change.
OK
that makes sense, thanks!
PS, did you get my cvs write access request Dries?
