Does this work with "Content Access"?

I saw in the Readme file that Taxonomy Access may get overwritten by other Access control modules, however I was hoping that Content Access and Taxonomy Access would work together in some way, but when I enable Taxonomy Access, all of my content Access Control gets freed up so anybody can view anything.

I'm just posting on here wondering if there's any way these two modules should/can work together or if I'm barking up the wrong tree!
