Every day I get e-mails from each of my sites telling me to upgrade from the Dev version to the release version. But only the Dev version works, and it is newer than the release version. How do I turn off these notices?
Better yet, move the Dev version to the release version!

TwoDYou can implement hook_update_projects_alter() if this annoys you.
A new release will be made once it's ready, and I won't recommend the -dev snapshots as they'll change as soon as I commit something, which seems to be best way to get people to actually help test bugfixes and other changes needed before TinyMCE 4 support can go in. Then we'll have a release.
