Cant get image into tag

The meta tag module is not pulling the image uploaded to the the node and putting it in the tag slot specified for the node path.

I tried to add [node:field_image] but it wont work. I am not sure what is needed to get the image that i upload to the node to be pulled and put in the meta tag

It would be nice if the Node token would be available for use in the meta module it would give so many more options.

[metatag:image_src] does not populate the image in the tag.
