Google map v3.5 is not displayed on ie8.

I tried to add the meta tag meta http-equiv=X-UA-Compatible content=IE=EmulateIE7 from http://www.mindfiresolutions.com/Google-Maps-V3-not-displaying-in-IE7IE8... --> map is not displayed.
