Since the multiyear functionality is an important feature in the COD (important enough to risk losing support from many camps that don't want this functionality) we should choose a single term to refer to this functionality, to facilitate better communication. "multiyear" (or multi-year) is one obvious choice. Alternately we could stick with "multi-event" although there is some ambiguity there. Eg. camps such as NYC Camp which have dozens of events at each yearly conference (and hence are using a separate group node type, "conference" to manage this.)

This term should be used as a tag in the COD/COD Support issue queue and should be clearly explained on usecod.com, which currently doesn't even mention it. (Unless I missed it.) The current language there only vaguely alludes to it on the roadmap

Support for multiple events on a site

This really leaves quite a bit unsaid, which of course leads to much surprise when conferences who are used to earlier versions attempt to use an alpha >= 2.

Knowledge of multiyear, how to use it, and moreover how to *not* use if, if desired is one of the top 3 topics I hear discussed by groups using COD; thus this deserves its own issue, albeit one that can be easily closed. As per drupal.org issue tag guidelines, only project maintainers should add tags.

Alternately, this thread could be used to discuss people's experiences with the multiyear functionality.
