I'm interested in any experiences people have getting the main Panels interface and IPE to work with mobile devices, be it phones (iPhone, etc), tablets (iPad, etc), primarily under Android and iOS.

I tested a Panopoly demo on an iPad, iOS7; the drag & drop functionality doesn't work at all, which is not surprising. If you touch and drag your finger, you are scrolling down the page, if you hold your finger down over the multi-directional arrow the iPad asks if you want to copy the content, and if you just tap it - nothing happens.

The gear icon and paintbrush work no problem on mobile.

@Kendall Totten has summed it up well.

Are there any plans for making the Panels IPE touch-friendly?

@PI_Ron: I think someone just needs to put the time into building out the functionality, I don't believe it's a priority for the maintainers.

Thanks @DamienMcKenna

I'll shuffle that one over to the wish-list for now :-)

I was doing some site edits on my Ipad last night and though it would be very cool to have drag-and-drop on there too. Trello.com doesn't provide this functionality for iPads, (delivering a standalone app for ipads instead) so I tend to think it might be quite difficult to implement.

Just found this, the first part of which is relevant.

The DOM example is offset on my Android device, but I'm sure it has potential.
