How often do you get this error? On what pages?

On any pages, frontend and backend.
But in admin area error "blinks", appears, disappears at page reset, then appears again. Depends on the timer?

I'm unable to duplicate, however this is most likely because I was using timers improperly. Fixed committed here:
http://drupalcode.org/project/memcache.git/commitdiff/d6502d5

Marking as fixed, but please re-open if the problem persists with this fix in place.
