Well, Helpers has been around longer, so why not Util merging with Helpers? Why did they start that module in the first place when this one was around?

I do not care which stays and which goes. Just merge.

I will not merge Helper module into Util. The two modules have common purpose, but they specialize in different area.

However this brings me to reconsider the name of the module.

Anyway, 'Wont Fix' until further notice.

I tend to agree with Oleg. Util seems to be more for admins while Helpers is more for developers. Further, while I like the structure of Util and may use it to develop my site-specific modules, it is vastly different from Helpers - the effort to convert would be significant.
