I'm running B&M 5.x-1.x-dev (2008-Jan-27) on Drupal 5.6. The number of saved backups is always one less than specified under "Number of Backup files to keep:".

For example, if I set it to 10, only 9 schedules backups are kept. If I want to keep 10, I have to set the value to 11...
