When you develop a mobile application, you need to minimize the amount of data is sent.
I am developing an application using Drupal as backend ( services module ) .
Perfect, I have a service that returns me all messages from authenticated user from the date passed as parameter to the time of the request .
But that date is the date of creation.
It would be nice to have another field with the modification date , this date would change when, for example the message becomes read .
If I have 400 messages received since using the app, and I set unread to read one of the messages that I had before in my mobile . I have no way to check the status of that message. Reorder the message, but as not know what has changed(i.e. I read the message in the web not in my mobile ) would have to re-order all the messages! .
With a field that kept a timestamp when the message will change , you may receive only the messages that have changed since a certain date, that date is the last time when you synchronize your phone data .
Cheers, and happy new year! .
