Hi,

I started trying to convert this site to D7 around a year ago and hit a bit of a wall. I'm now committed to moving some other sites over to D7 so am looking into it again.l

I hope I'm OK posting a URL here, so here is one of the base pages for global surf reports:
www.yosurfer.com/surf_spots/

I have considered a couple of approaches - using taxonomy and using references to parents. Both worked fine but ended up with problems I couldn't get past.

So any suggestions on how to build the basic site structure whilst keeping the URL along the following lines would be great:
/continent/country/region/surf_spot and /continent/country/region/surf_report etc

Many thanks in advance,
Chris

Taxonomy. What were the problems that stopped you?

I'd like to do it the Taxonomy way as it seems logical and there isn't that much detailed info on each term. I did post about my problem here: https://drupal.org/node/2165119 but haven't had a response.

In short I couldn't figure out a good way to have a different view for each level of the vocabulary, i.e. the region page needed to present different info in a different way to the country page etc.
I have got quite a long way towards solving this using views blocks and the context module so may be able to figure something out.

However, if there is a better / alternative way I'd love to know about it.

Thanks,
Chris
