I hadn't heard of inlinemanual.com before, but tours like the ones it provides would be pretty cool!

Open Atrium is doing tours via the Bootstrop Tour module, which allows tours to be exported via Features. There's other ones too, like Joyride. If we did something similar, we could create a panopoly_tour module that contained all the tours we created.

However, the technology ultimately used is just an implementation detail.

inlinemanual.com clearly uses Bootstrop Tour as the implementation. The clever thing to do would be to write the Tour in a format, that would be easily converted to Drupal 8 Tour-module.

I thought that some implementation of joyride (the jquery library) was going into D8. I don't know if that ever happened or not.

If that is the case, I would look at utilizing the joyride module.

This would be cool, however, we're not adding an new Features in Panopoly 1.x. Marking as Postponed so we can reconsider it for Panopoly 2.x when development on it starts. And since Drupal 8 include joyride, it'll be even easier! :-)
