If I understood it correctly, the main problem with this advanced editor it is the lack of support to edit various objects at the same time.
In theory it is possible, but just as a multipart feature sharing the same attributes, I mean as a single node (to use Drupal language) with a multipart geometry.
Example: a node type countries with a polygon geometry and various fields (name, area, ...). Each country has its own node.
I can edit each country geometry/attributes on its own node page but I won't have rest of adjacent countries while I am editing it; instead I can create a map showing al countries together but that won't be an editable map.
In web mapping editing (conversely that on post editing) everybody it is used to edit a geometry and its own attributes together with adjacent features, especially being them lines or polygons, a bit like you can do on CartoDB where the editing capabilities are on the general map and are reflected in the table behind.
Can you confirm that this behaviour it is impossible with the current implementation of OLE in Drupal?
Would it be possible to implement or are there strong technical problems?
Is it on your feature list for the future?
I am using it with your distribution Cartaro and in my opinion it is one of the main weaknesses of an otherwise great project.
Thanks

Hi mato,

currently we're working on a new module for Cartaro that will provide this kind of functionality you described. And a lot more, so stay tuned.

An implementation directly in the OLE module is out of scope, because it is only supposed to provide the OpenLayers behavior.

Hi friedjoff,
that sound quite exiting! I have to start a new project in January and I am evaluation various solutions to cover all my needs and Cartaro cover most of them! Do you have an estimate date for this functionality (even something quite general)?
Thanks

OK, I know it is difficult to give estimate date.
It can be helpful some support in sponsoring this feature?
