Hello,

I have a content type with hundreds of fields. In my form they are all dispatched in groups (up to 3 or 4 depth levels from the root).

In "Manage Display" tab -> "Fieldgroups" -> "Select source view mode or form", when cloning the fieldgroups from the Form to the Full mode, the groups are created, but :
- the groups have lost their parent relationship (all groups are at the same depth level)
- the fields assigned to a group have lost their former relationship too

What I epxect to see : The whole structure should be copied from my Form to the view mode.

I'm quite new to field groups, thus this might have worked or is a new feature request :)

Agreed - this is how I expected to see it. I'd rather have to do all the extra re-arrangement work if I wanted the Full displayed field groupings to differ from the node creation Form.

Very cumbersome with dozens to hundreds of fields in a single node when you lose all the carefully designed parent relationships of field groups.

There is a fix for this. See 1791744 for a patch.

Are there any plans to have this work "Cloning fieldgroups from Form to view mode (groups & fields relationship)" ported to the Drupal 8 version?
