I just realized that we don't set an <autoSoftCommit>
in our 4.x solrconfig.xml
.
It also seems this was never discussed, and I'm just wondering why? Is there a reason?
I mean, it's a really great feature and while there are certainly cases in which it shouldn't be used, I do think it should be enabled by default. In any case, we should add the section, along with documentation, to our file and make it configurable through solrcore.properties
.
Any opinions?

Nick_vhNot sure if there is a reason but I wonder if this is supported from Solr 4.0? We took the example schema from Solr 4.1 if I recall and modified it.

drunken monkeyI can't test right now, but since it's in the 4.0.0-ALPHA release notes (#22), I'm pretty sure it is supported.
So what do you think should be our default there?
