IEF changes not picked up on node preview. [#2143709]

When using a single inline entity widget (can't confirm for multiple), we do no see the changes when previewing a node (product display). I believe this is because the "old" referenced entity is loaded for the preview instead of the values from the form state.

I haven't looked into it, but I don't think there's a way for IEF to support node preview. The preview is terribly implemented.

Confirming what I said a year ago. Someone needs to completely rewrite node previews. I believe that the D8 approach can be backported.

I completely get that the preview does not save the inline entity yet, thus disallowing you to actually preview the full result. Would it not be possible to spoof an entity just for previewing purposes, however?
