Doubled '*' is caused by #1592688: #states can cause the form "required" mark to appear more than once on the same element

(After that, read some comments from #17-... there may be suggestions for improving the approach.)

Patch #29 works like a charm!

I recommend closing this issue. #2224443: Image upload field is cast off to the right has been deployed and we'll get #1592688: #states can cause the form "required" mark to appear more than once on the same element when we upgrade to a version of core that has the fix.
