When exporting a content type via Features, adding the content type to Features adds its fields automatically to the Feature as well. It would make sense, for consistency, therefore, that adding a field collection to a Feature also add its associated field bases and field instances as well.

For me it doesn't work at all with Features 2.0. I have selected all fields manually and I can see them in the feature page, but when I run a clean install and enable the feature, they are not there. Perhaps it works when making changes to the field configuration.
