I wouldn't use this module for a responsive layout.

Use a normal layout create a template file and use the bootstrap framework for the responsive stuff.

If you have questions about bootstrap in Drupal I will do my best to help :D

With Bootstrap you are able to do the responsive stuff were it should be (In your personal theme)

Just download the latest version of it and add it to your theme.

I also use the Normalize css for all my theme as base css.

theme.info (Example)
This is how I add Bootstrap to my themes

stylesheets[all][] = css/bootstrap/bootstrap.min.css

stylesheets[all][] = css/normalize.css
stylesheets[all][] = css/bootstrap/bootstrap-responsive.min.css

scripts[] = js/bootstrap/bootstrap.min.js
