I am missing a way to create lots of events by uploading a file or something like that.
Something like reading an ics file would be great.
It can be more or less done by subscribing to a local calendar (ics file) but the text is not really imported and the users cannot enter on the event. Maybe it is a bug of the ics import function...

You can try this "problem" in DXCal (http://dxcal.com)

The calendar does not store information, so will not import it. Plus you have to have a node ready to receive that info. The way to do this is to install the CCK Date and Date Copy modules. The Date module will allow you to define a node with fields you can import into, and Date Copy will allow you to input the url of an .ics file to import.
