I am using custom content types for all content at a site I'm building for work. I took away the ability to create or edit Articles or Basic Pages except for the administrators (me and one other person).

However, when I allow end users to have "Advanced Search" they see both of these content types as allowable for searches. This is a small cosmetic thing, but is there a way to hide particular content types from the "Advanced Search" menu? Eventually, I will likely have dozens of Content Types, only a small number of which will be relevant to end users.

I found the "custom_search" module which does what I want. As my Drupal teacher said, always assume "there's a module for that".
