I have just installed Drupal (ver 7.23) on my Linux desktop, and added a few modules, one of the being CKEditor; in fact here is the whole list:

# ll drupal/modules
total 4004
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 73702 Sep 19 15:06 advanced_help-7.x-1.0.tar.gz
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1300736 Sep 19 15:13 ckeditor_4.2.1_full.zip
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 242724 Sep 19 14:25 ckeditor-7.x-1.13.tar.gz
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 413477 Sep 19 14:28 ctools-7.x-1.3.tar.gz
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 339088 Sep 19 15:06 panels-7.x-3.3.tar.gz
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1639539 Sep 19 15:06 views-7.x-3.7.tar.gz
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 78233 Sep 19 14:25 wysiwyg-7.x-2.2.tar.gz

Now, every time I edit conect and try to save it, I get a 404 error:

Not Found

The requested URL /talentex/admin/content was not found on this server.
Apache/2.2.22 (Debian) Server at localhost Port 80

When I go back to the start page and find the changed content, the changes have been saved, but it is incredibly frustrating. It seems like an elementary navigation error somewhere, so surely there is an easy fix?

In the end, this has turned out to be quite tricky - it happens because Clean URLs cannot be turned on, but somewhere the code assumes that it must be. I found this page helpful:
