The preview of fieldable panel panes is not language aware when using entity translation

I was able to verify the issue, but I don't have any direction on a fix.

  • I installed Entity Translation
  • Enabled Translation on Fieldable Panel Panes (saved) in Config (/admin/config/regional/entity_translation)
  • I set the default language for all field types to alternately Default and Current (I performed the test on a Text Pane)
  • I am select the language by turning off "Hide language selector", but it is always editing the default content

I attached a screen grab showing the language selector shows, but it doesn't seem to really do anything.

I actually have kind of the same problem with body fields of nodes.

All translations are displayed correctly. And the body field translation can be edited correctly in the node/edit form.
But when editing the body field pane of a translated node with the In-Place-Editor or the normal panelizer UI, the preview shows the right translation while the editor (independent on the text filter) shows the original content (see screenshot: "test" being the original content, "test english" being the translated content).

I used the following versions:
Panopoly 7.x-1.21
Entity_Translation 7.x-1.0-beta4
I18n 7.x-1.12
