You should probably post this in the Contextual Tabs module queue. I thought we were just keeping the same captions as the Drupal tabs, but maybe it needs to do something a bit different on multilingual sites.
If anybody could help debug this and submit a patch, it would be appreciated.

I noticed when changing to Bartik I see no buttons at all.

mpotter CreditAttribution: mpotter commentedContextual Tabs currently uses and requires a Bootstrap-based theme. The module needs improvement to work with general themes such as Bartik.
