Dear Drupal community,

I am new to drupal and i got an error on the website making it impossible to upload new files/media. I've searched the internet for a long time and i tried all sorts of stuff, like adding new tmp map, adjusting the rights on the map and i'm out of options, so i thought i'll post a message. I've got the following error when i open the media button

"The file temporary://filelNQlyY can not be copied, because the directory is not set properly. This could be a problem with the rights."

I translated it from dutch so it might not be 100% proper english.

Even with that message i can still edit articles etc. However when i try to upload an image i get the error:

"The file directory public://field/image does not exist or is not writable. Please contact an administrator."

I don't know what the problem is, because the maps are there and i've even tried it with chmod 777 on the maps.

Can anyone help me with this?

With kind regards,
Bjorn

Heyy Bjorn Rijpert

This seems to be the permission issue with /tmp directory of your drupal site this issue you can identify from admin/config/media/file-system. Hope this will help to resolve your issue.

Hi,

Thanks for your response. I tried to set the folders like /tmp on 777 just to see if that will make a difference but still no luck. All the folders that are set in the admin/config/media/file-system area are put on 777, so i don't know what i can do to make a difference. Any idea on that?
