Title: Spurious out of date message » Spurious out of date message, Not supported
dlu’s picture

So I did a bit of digging (with Gaelan's help) and we discovered that the message is coming, logically enough, from the Update module. I know that this problem will "go away" when D8 is released, but it would be nice and hopefully relatively easy to add a test for a not-yet-released version and produce a more accurate message. Something like:

Project not supported. This project is a development version. It should only be run in a test or development environment. Use in production is not recommended.

I agree. I've changed the message and removed the red error background for 'dev' versions.

That looks good. Thank you.

Tested by patching a current clone and visiting pages where the spurious warning had been displayed. Not sure if I got everything but so far it looks good.

I think this extra bit of granularity is useful; this probably is deserving of D7 backport as well.

However, it should be possible to add a test for this, so let's do so.

Not sure when this was fixed but the data on the update page no longer has this problem. Closing as cannot reproduce. If that is a mistake, re-open and explain what needs to be done.

Thanks.
