There are several new modules in Drupal Core that do not have entries in MAINTAINERS.txt:
- action
- ban
- CKEditor
- content_translation
- datetime
- editor [Text Editor]
- email
- entity
- field_sql_storage
- history
- language
- layout
- link
- number
- options
- serialization
- telephone
- text
- xmlrpc
Shouldn't they all have entries? It makes it hard to figure out who's maintaining them if not. For instance, there's a group of people working on making sure all the hook_help() gets written/updated for D8 and they don't know who to contact for these modules to verify the help is accurate or with questions about functionality.

fgmWell, I've been maintaining XML-RPC since 4.7, and formally since 7.0, so that makes at least one known.

jhodgdonHow about a patch then? :)

jhodgdonIt looks like the field type modules are being taken care of on #1823042: Add maintainers and d.o components for all field type modules. But this issue still has quite a few other modules in it.
We should also go through the existing maintainers of components and modules and make sure they are (a) still willing to be maintainers and (b) actually doing the job, as xjm is doing for the field modules on that other issue.

jhodgdonOK this is now a duplicate of #2050477: [META] Identify component maintainers for components with no maintainer listed in MAINTAINERS.txt, which is much nicer/neater.
