Forms for creating posts, questions, etc., include 4 group-related fields.
I kind of understand need for 2 "groups" fields, but I do not understand what the 2 "user groups" fields are for. All I can find is that these 2 fields have been eliminated from UI of Commons Trusted Contacts per https://drupal.org/node/2023403.
I would like to hide the 2 "user groups" fields across my entire site -- show only the 2 "groups" fields in each of the relevant forms. What is the easiest way to do that?
Thanks

ezra-g CreditAttribution: ezra-g commentedThese shouldn't appear anywhere in the UI after #2023403: Hide "User groups" field from new content creation forms.

ezra-g CreditAttribution: ezra-g commentedPer #1, I'm not able to reproduce this with the latest dev version of Commons Groups. If you are able to reproduce, please re-open with steps to reproduce.

This problem is fixed as long as Commons_Trusted_Contacts is enabled.
If you disable Trusted Contacts then the "User Groups" field(s) still show in addition to "Groups". For example, in forms for creating posts and events. I assume all types of content behave similarly.
I would rather not enable Trusted Contacts, but I could consider enabling that module as a workaround if necessary.

behoppe333 CreditAttribution: behoppe333 commentedThanks. I am changing this back from bug report to its original category of support request.
I am new to Drupal. What is the easiest way to remove "user groups" fields?
My latest hunch is that for each content type (post, event, etc.), I
When I originally posted the question I was about to implement hook_form_alter for all the forms I want to clean up, which seemed really clunky.
Sorry if my question is too newbie for this forum.

behoppe333 CreditAttribution: behoppe333 commentedIMO this is an open support question: "how do I hide user groups fields?" as elaborated in #5
It is distinct from #2023403: Hide "User groups" field from new content creation forms
I understand if no one has time to answer my question, or if this is not the appropriate place for my question, but it is an open question and if anyone has advice I would greatly appreciate it.
PS: Somehow this issue got tagged as Commons 3.3 radar, but I personally see no reason that this issue hold up Commons 3.3. And so I have removed that tag.
