Hi, when I try and edit views on my test site I get nice drop down menus but when I edit it on my real site I just get a list. For example on my test site there is a drop down menu to the right and the defaults are greyed out. On my real site there is just a list of hyperlinks that say enable, edit, clone etc. Cheers Rob.

That suggests something is different in the setup. If you look at the javascript console are there any javascript errors?

How do I look in the javascript console, sorry still getting used to drupal. Cheers. Rob.

Most/all modern browsers have a set of developer tools including a javascript console. Details on how to open will depend on the browser used.

I get 17 403 errors as it is forbidden. I am using the default admin account, any ideas? Cheers. Rob.

I have looked at all of the files and they are all present except for the fact they dont have ?mpilkh in their name? Any Ideas? Cheers, Rob.

Have you tried clearing cache?

robhand’s picture

Yes, many times. Thanks for the reply.

Next thing is to check the the files are really present and what there ownership and permissions are. It sounds like they do not have read access set to group and/or world.

robhand’s picture

Thanks for the quick reply. All the permissions are set to either 664 or 764 so that should not be the problem. Regarding whether the files are there take the first error, the file date.css exists but not date.css?mpilkh Cheers Rob.

The '?mpilkh' should not matter, and 664 or 764 should work as the 4 says the file should be readable by the world. So next thing I would check is all the directories in the path to make sure they can be accessed. And the site is installed in the root of your web account?

robhand’s picture

All of them can be accessed, and yes it is installed directly into the public_html folder, so the root folder. Cheers. Rob

Extra info it also says this at the start of every string, Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 (Forbidden) Cheers Rob

To me that sounds like a permissions issue. Check the permissions on the files and the folder that contains them. It should be 744. If it is a lower number (like starting with a 6 or a 4) that is probably your issue. You can read and change permissions with most FTP programs.

All the permissions are at either 644 or 764, are these correct? Cheers. Rob.

Maybe some modules got corrupt on upload. What happens if you FIRST delete the modules with files throwing the errors off the server and then re-upload fresh copies?

A mix or reuploading, clearing the cache and running cron worked!! Cheers guys, really appreciate it! Rob.
