Hello all, i am hoping someone can help me, i am moving over a website from joomla to drupal, they currently have the first article taking over the full size then each article splits the area in 2 see http://www.jubileeleather.co.uk
i am hoping someone can help me do this in drupal without needing to do do half of the content in blocks.
i have the lasted version of drupal with views which is currently not enabled for front page, as i am hoping it can be done within the templating of drupal, maybe a css class for the first article then use a different css class for the rest, then i can style it how i want it from there, hope this way is possible, if so how please?
Thanks all.

Let me give it a try... Each article (node) can be given an attribute to show it on the front page. This is the "Promoted to front page" publishing option. An article with this attribute set gets the "node-promoted" class in it's div.

Furthermore an article can be given an attribute to make it sticky on the front page. This is the "Sticky at top of lists" publishing option. An article with this attribute set gets the "node-sticky" class in it's div.

Given these classes you could always have one article with the sticky attribute and style it with css to use the full width. Other articles without the sticky class can (I think) be styled differently and be shown below the first one.

Hope this help...

Good answer.

Want only to say that this website is badly done in Joomla. They show full Article body at the front end, then there is no need to make title clickable and show full Article twice. I dont know also how Google see it, beside that

The expression can also be, more commonly accustomed to reference network-based providers which in turn look like furnished by actual server computer hardware, which in turn in reality tend to be supported way up by means of electronic computer hardware, simulated by means of software package managing upon one or more actual equipment. www.thenehruplace.com
