I implemented this module but in the settings page it says AntiSpam has caught 0 spam. And in fact it's not catching any spam because I have to clean them manually everyday.
I am using Defensio and in the module's settings page it says in red color:

WARNING: Your API Key doesn't seem to be valid!

I have entered it several times already and checked to make sure it's the correct key from their website.

What am I doing wrong??

I changed it to Akismet and it's working fine now. Defensio seems to have an issue with this module, is anyone using Defensio?

I'm curious about how effective this module is too, trying to switch from Spamicide as it's not very effective.

PS: Two months with no reply, it's worrying.

I have tried almost all antispam modules and finally the following combination made it work for me 99%:

  • Antispam module
  • BlockAnonymousLinks module
  • Disable the Homepage field from the comments section

Let me know if you have any question.

PS: yes, the response on issues for this module sucks!

Defensio has since shut down, so I'll be closing this issue.

Also, sorry about the lack of response. I've recently been added as a maintainer, and I hope to respond to new issues ASAP.
