WWE is committed to leveraging the power of its brand and platforms to help address important social issues worldwide including diversity and inclusion, education, military support and providing hope to those in need. Through partnerships with The Creative Coalition, Ad Council, GLAAD, Special Olympics Connecticut, YALSA, Pearson Foundation, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, USO, Hire Heroes USA, and Make-A-Wish, WWE supports programs and initiatives that positively impact children and families around the world. To raise awareness on important community initiatives, a new WWE website was created exclusively to highlight WWE, its talent and partner efforts to bring positive change to the community.DOOR3 is delighted to nominate the new WWE Community site for a Blue Drop Award.
WWE Community was a 2013 Blue Drop Awards finalist for Best B2C Website Built With Drupal.
Drupal was chosen for the project because WWE is a content company and because Drupal is specifically good for enterprise content management. WWE has in-house Drupal expertise and content teams with Drupal admin experience. DOOR3, in its familiar role as the marketing and IT partner for companies that have chosen Drupal for enterprise content management, was a natural fit for the project.
WWE has a passionate and fun-loving fan base of 14 million and these fans are oftentimes the beneficiary of WWE’s community involvement. The new website gives fans and non-fans alike, the ability to see what partners, WWE and its Superstars and Divas are championing in the community. The website will also allow business partners to see firsthand WWE’s dedication to important causes and enable them to join and support. Additionally, through interactive features including “Take Action,” which enables volunteering or donating to WWE’s various partners, as well as up-to-the minute social media discussion, the WWE Universe now has the ability to become more involved than ever.
