I think a few things can improve user experience and reduce learning curve. These are:

  1. On Manage Fields tab I'm thinking of a help text st like 'This is a list of fields in Content Type X'. I'm not sure if this list fully defines the content types form and has nothing else to do. If this is the case than mentioned help text would give some help understand what is going on on that tab.
  2. I'm thinking of an 'Add field' Context Link on top and/or bottom of this list. Also one for Existing fields.
  3. On manage Display tab / Custom Display Settings: I can Imagine an 'Add Display' link that makes you able to create new displays.

I'm not sure what you think these posts in the forum will accomplish. You're much more likely to get traction for your ideas, which seem reasonable so far, by contributing to Drupal development via the core issues queue. If you're just interested in getting others to take your suggestions and contribute them you're probably wasting your time, that's just not how Drupal development works. Besides, core developers are highly unlikely to see your posts in the forums anyway.
