Drupalpro is based on ubuntu desktop 12.04 -- with support through 2017 -- and aims to be a (mostly) vanilla install of ubuntu configured for developing drupal/php -- plus has many incremental updates for workflow such as Drush, GIT, xchat IRC, desktop wallpaper with workflows cheatsheet; as well as some other programs, etc. Drupalpro setup currently still has a modified the sudo account in a similar fashion as quickstart -- but has added a firewall plus GUI for the firewall.
drupalpro also has an IRC channel for support: #drupalpro
