Support for Drupal 7 is ending on 5 January 2025—it’s time to migrate to Drupal 10! Learn about the many benefits of Drupal 10 and find migration tools in our resource center.
There are quite a few D5 and earlier releases that are still marked as supported. I do not think that they actually are supported.
Being marked as supported means that they show up on the project page.
We IMO should
1) make a list of such releases and their projects
2) either send a mail to all the affected maintainers or just send a general newsletter
3) mark these releases unsupported.
Anybody who disagrees with their release being marked unsupported is then free to change that back.

cweagansIMO, if core isn't supported, then contrib shouldn't be either. 5.x is long dead. Let's kill the releases.
