it seems like a god idea to give the "owner" of a group on g.d.o the right to make his [m/f] and other postings in that group the "sticky bit"

MichelleYou might want to post this in the g.d.o group on g.d.o. I asked Moshe the other day when something about groups came through here and he said he isn't on this list.

Bumping this to either mark fixed or won't fix - since I don't know which it would be.

gregglesThis needs to get in OG first.

amitaibuYou can achieve a similar behaviour using http://drupal.org/project/smartqueue_og

MichelleSo where do we go from here? The issue isn't "fixed" because that isn't on g.d.o but it looks like it's "fixed" from OG's perspective. Bounce it back to webmaster's?

gregglesYes, now we get to make it an infra issue.
I'm not sure this makes a lot of sense, really. Or...I'm not sure it's worth the time it would take to implement it. If a group owner wants to highlight posts they can do so via the body of the OG node itself, right? Or a custom pane in their og_panel.

opdaviesWhat about enabling the "Sticky at top of lists" option for group organisers?

My understanding is we can't use sticky because that applies across groups. So because a single post can be in multiple groups, someone marking it as sticky in one would make it sticky in other groups. We need some sort of group-specific sticky. As an alternative, we could just make group-specific lists that show up above everything else, which I think was the idea with https://www.drupal.org/project/smartqueue_og. I wonder if adding a node reference field to the group content type wouldn't be a simpler solution.
