It seemed awkward to us to display the word 'New' on nodes just because they have never been shared. Some of our nodes are 5 years old and say 'New' next to them.
So I found this nifty option in the ShareThis API that allows you so display a simple zero ('0') instead, and I have added it in the form of a checkbox in the Advanced vertical tab of the configuration page.
By default the checkbox is turned off, and 'New' will still display as always.

Gaofengzzz CreditAttribution: Gaofengzzz commentedThanks very much @tomogden for your good idea and patch.
I went ahead and got it committed against the 7.x-2.x-dev branch at e18e31f.

tomogden CreditAttribution: tomogden commented@gaofengzzz , it has been a year now since the last "Recommended release" was issued. Do you think you could issue a new release with this and other fixes so we don't have to use the dev version?
Thanks.
