Support for Drupal 7 is ending on 5 January 2025—it’s time to migrate to Drupal 10! Learn about the many benefits of Drupal 10 and find migration tools in our resource center.
The people over at http://drupal.org/project/google_analytics_counter have done some fine work. Making an awesome module for Google Analytics. However there are a lot of benefits to piwik and it would be wonderful to not store any results for piwik in the drupal 7 database through fields. It would be awesome to build views blocks and pull data offloading all the work to wherever your Piwik installation is. Any thoughts on this?

patrickd CreditAttribution: patrickd commentedSorry for the late reply,
I'm currently lacking of time and not able to rewrite this module, but I'd leave this open as feature request..
Maybe I'll find some time later this year, or maybe someone else wants to do this (maybe you? ;-) )

infines CreditAttribution: infines commentedI'm not very well suited for building a module but I'll try to keep learning and staying active with this project! You seem very active on d.o, so hopefully in the future when I'm ready, I could maybe submit something then OR maybe you'll have time OR maybe someone else will volunteer. :D
EDIT: Maybe we could find sponsorship to make it more worth your while.

infines CreditAttribution: infines commentedI'm going to be diving into module building in the next couple weeks. Hopefully I can get something started and perhaps we can work on it together? I'm not going to assign this issue to myself until I actually start making something.

My contribution-time is currently focused on simplytest.me, but for sure I'll try to answer your questions and review the code.
I didn't have a real look at the google_analytics_counter module yet but if there are major advantages to 'port' it to piwik I'm very happy about your work!
