Select widget for state/province not working with Profile2 [#1891366]

I have a location field in a profile2 profile, with a dropdown select for provinces. If I change the country in the user/register form, the province list doesn't change. There is no ajax error, and I couldn't track it to the source. I looked at the ajax callback and tried some modifications, but anything works. Still, I think it should be easy to make it compatible with profile as it is with any other content type (I tried to create a location field in Basic Page and it works perfectly).

Any ideas?

You may want to try the patch at #1874588: Province does not update. Does not receive $form_state['input']
