Attached patch is mostly docs updates and tweaks and comments/questions from me marked either @todo or // TODO. It also moves the static caching from views_get_view() to views::load(), which is now a static factory method.

More thoughts to come later, although clarification on the questions posed so far would be appreciated, too. :-)
