Section 6 of the Drupal 6 How To says

6. Add and configure a "Node Content" display in the View.
i. Click 'Node content' and 'Add display'.

The issue is, the only options I have to click are Attachment, Block, Feed, Page.
Node content is not present.

Seems I had missed out installing Views Attach. Problem Sorted
