Pager with clickable items?

Hi everyone,
I've configured my slideshow to use a pager that uses the values of certain fields in the view. I configured it so that when users mouseover the pager item, the slide image changes. When users click on the slide image, it takes them somewhere, which is defined in a field in the slideshow item. However, I would like to be able to have it so that when users click on the pager item it takes users to the same link as when they click on the slideshow image. Right now, clicking on the pager item does nothing. I've done some digging in the interface and in the module code but I can't seem to find a way to implement this.

Is there any way to do this? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
