I'm now using the drush completion stuff (in zsh, as the completion rocks), and have been using these functions for a little while to autcomplete my features commands (which I used rather a lot).
Anyway, it would be ace if they were in the module and not in my .drushrc :o)

Anyways, I had a look at your patch and perhaps having a function for returning features is a better plan. Also, surrounding the return looks like a nice idea; though I think I'd copied the patterns I saw in drush core so not sure it matters.
