Hi to all!

I talked with Slovenian Drupal delegation at DBS ZG 2012 about relationship with Drupal Balkan Summit events.

First of all, I think that your move to brand your camp as Drupal Camp Alpe-Adria is totally cool, especially because of your geographical, political and lingual context (in compare to Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro).

But, I would be really happy that we stick together in our region, and to mash up DCAA and DBS so we circulate through our region like it was planned so for e.g. that in October 2013 we held DBS Belgrade, in April 2014 DBS Mostar, in October 2014 DBS Rijeka, and in April 2015 DCAA Maribor. Towns and locations are purely just for example, every coincidence with future events is unintentional. :)

What do you think about that? Maybe it is early to make such strategic choices, maybe you would like to hold another DCAA in April 2014 - but, I think it would be great to cooperate between ourselves, instead to get to situation where we compete for attendees and speakers because of too little space between our events...

Also, this way we can also benefit in marketing sense - we can promote each other in a way that DCAA is twin / sister / partner Drupal event to DBS (as there exist twin / sister / partner cities, I don't know which expression suits this scenario best) and vice versa.

Some info about DBS - http://groups.drupal.org/node/263638 - I will update it soon with fresh info, I hope so that I will also will mention DCAA as sister Drupal event in region (yup, I think sister term suite best! ;)).

Please provide feedback.

Unrelated to conclusion of this particular issue, I would like to share information from our recent experiences, like budget construction, contacts of possible keynote speakers and eventual sponsors and so on... ;)

Thx.

It's also option (one possible scenario) to held DCAA once every year, (in April) and also have only one DBS (in October) and to be sister Drupal camps...it's all about how much Drupal community momentum and energy every local community has and is willing to give - which you will probably be more aware of after DCAA, then before. ;)

And also, yearly DCAA don't need to be DCAA, it could be Drupal Developer Days, Drupal Business Summit or Frontend United. ;)
