Mac OS X users see the following with git status

machine:ldap user$ git status
# On branch 7.x-2.x
# Untracked files:
#   (use "git add <file>..." to include in what will be committed)
# .DS_Store
nothing added to commit but untracked files present (use "git add" to track)

Add .DS_Store entry to .gitignore to exclude the entry.

Shouldn't this ignore go in your .git configuration? Is .DS_store from you IDE or OS?

.DS_Store is an Apple OS X thing.

You are right though, I just added it to my global config now.
git config --global core.excludesfile /Users/myhome/.gitignore

I saw the .gitignore file and just jumped in to putting the entry in there.
