Hi,

I finally did the upgrade to version 1.2. Therefore I did also upgrade chained menu access to V2 and made sure the latest ACL is installed. I ran the db-update process. All went successful as far as I saw.

But since this upgrade the forum does not show any topic-reply (comment). The topic itself is shown and in the topic-list the the reply-count is shown correct to. But when opening a single topic one the topic itself (title & description) is shown but not replies. This happens in private forums as well as in public forums and even when logged in as admin.

Versions:
- Drupel 7.17
- Forum Access 1.2
- ACL 1.0
- Chain Menu Access 2.0
- Views 3.5
- Content Access 1.2 beta 1

Does anybody have an idea what is going wrong here? Any help would be great! Checked permissions etc. over and over but did not fid anything wrong and ran out of ideas.

Thanks for help!
Cheers, Marc

A screenshot / mock-up would really help to understand what you're describing.

Also, please state the path (URL) of where the problem is.

Hi Salvis,

Thanks for the fast response. You're right - a "liiiittle" more detail would help ;-) I've attached some screenshots with descriptions. This setup did its job with Version 1.1 but fails now with 1.2. Ok, maybe when trying fixing this issue I changed settings I forgot to set back.

The Content-Access-Warning is unclear to me. I hope I checked/set the right stuff as shown in the screenshots or did I miss to check anything?

The website can be found at http://www.tauchbolde.ch but the forum is for members only. So that might not help a lot.

Regards,
Marc

Title: Topic-replys not shown anymore after update to Version 1.2 » No comments displayed anymore on the node pages after update to Version 1.2

This is a strange issue.

It seems like your user is missing the 'View comments' permission. Do you see the comments as user 1?

The Content-Access-Warning is unclear to me.

It's a long text. Which word in which sentence is not clear?

"Clear all the checkboxes" means you should remove all the checkmarks (the ones you can remove). This is pretty much the opposite of what we're seeing in
access_control_for_documenttype_forumtopic.JPG
In what way is this unclear?

Thanks a lot for your help. I really appreciate it!

It seems like your user is missing the 'View comments' permission. Do you see the comments as user 1?

User 1 is "admin" and "admin" does have View Comment permissions in (People > Permissions).

It's a long text. Which word in which sentence is not clear?

It seems its not the text but the link in the text. When I clicked that link I got moved to "Content" with the list of all "Forum topic" contents. "Clear checkboxes" in that list made no sense to me so I was unclear which page is meant to clear the checkboxes.

This is pretty much the opposite of what we're seeing in access_control_for_documenttype_forumtopic.JPG

Ok got that one. I cleared all those checkboxes for "Forum topic" and hit the "Rebuild permissions" ins Reports > Status Report but still don't see the comments/replies in the forum.

I also disabled forum-access but this made no difference. Re-enabled it again. Does this mean something? I'm asking myself if the comments/replies are still in the database but don't know where to look for them. Do you know if the reply-count in the topic-list is calculated every time based on the database-content or is it stored in field and therefore can be out of sync with the existence of the comments/replies?

Cheers, Marc

You are right, this is confusing, because the link is wrong. It should point to admin/structure/types/manage/forum/access.

I've just pushed a fix to the -dev version — it'll be repackaged within 12h.

I also disabled forum-access but this made no difference. Re-enabled it again. Does this mean something?

It seems that you did more than upgrade FA and friends...

The comments are at admin/content/comment if they're still there.

Try disabling all contribs and see what happens.
